Deliveries and Shipping

If you are enquiring about your order delivery times please read on.

As it's Christmas we are now in our busiest time of year – so are Royal Mail and all the courier companies we use. We are humans (not Amazon robots) so please bear with us and we will get your order to you as fast as humanly possible. If it's a special order item please also bear in mind that timescales are approximate and the end delivery to us is down to suppliers and their Christmas shipping schedules. You will get your order and we will work as fast as we can.

The Longbow Shop special offer on free UK mainland shipping requires a minimum spend of £100 (ex VAT) and will be available on checkout. The Longbow Shop will ship with a carrier and service of it's choosing at the time of order. If your order is urgent or you require a specific service please contact us for a costing.



In an ideal world, all deliveries would be free. The cost of delivery has to be picked up by someone, and to offer free delivery would only mean a percentage increase in product prices to cover this cost.

We use a combination of Royal Mail and 3rd party couriers. For all orders over £30 a signature is usually required. If no one is available to sign when a delivery attempt is made, a card will be left. Please follow the instructions on the card to arrange re-delivery.

Packages should be inspected for damage before acceptance. If the package is damaged on arrival, then sign for the package as ‘damaged upon delivery’. (Take photographs of the parcel before opening, as evidence of the damage).

You should inspect the delivery for conformity and report any discrepancies/shortages to us within 3 working days after delivery.



For orders delivered to the UK 20% VAT is charged.

The UK is no longer a part of the European Union so for all our customers you will no longer be charged VAT at checkout. You will pay your local VAT and any customs charges at the point of delivery.

All customers outside the UK will be responsible for the payment of all import duties and local taxes, as well as any additional customs clearance charges.

If you refuse or do not pay these charges, what happens next is out of our control

If the parcel is returned to us without any additional charges, we will refund you the original cost of goods, excluding the original shipping charge.

If we incur additional costs to recover the goods, this cost will be deducted from the refund value.

If we are unable to recover the goods, no refund will be given.

UK VAT is shown on our website as a default for UK customers and guest visitors. If you are outside the UK please create an account and add your address to see our prices without VAT or see the Ex-VAT price displayed. Shipping costs can be seen by using our shipping calculator before checkout using your location details.

Please make sure the address on your order is a deliverable one.


Please add items to your cart and you will see a shipping estimator. Input your details to see shipping based on your location and the chosen items.

Shipping costs are an estimate and may be subject to additional charges depending on size and weight of the final parcel. We will contact you should there be any additional charges prior to despatch. If 'Collect from shop' is your only available shipping option or your shipping looks very expensive on checkout then your order may be too heavy or have too many items for our regular shipping system to calculate. We may be able reduce these costs manually. Please contact the shop by email



Shipping times that are stated on the product pages and check outs are estimates only. There are too many parameters to take into account to give a defined time on each product especially special order items.

When we receive your order, an order confirmation email is sent to the email address you supplied with that order. When your order is shipped another notification email (and SMS if asked for) is sent to you confirming when it was sent, and where applicable, a tracking number will be included. Standard services such as Royal Mail will not have a tracking number. If you would like a tracked service please choose courier or get in touch).

Please note that the shipping method selected at the check-out is not the delivery time from when the order is placed, but the service level provided by a 3rd party (eg. Royal Mail) once your items have been dispatched. These service levels are not guaranteed.

As a guideline, please see the typical dispatch time estimates listed below:

'in-stock items' are usually dispatched within 2-5 working days. (Monday - Friday)

Arrows that require cutting/points fitting are usually dispatched within 2-5 working days. (Monday - Friday)

Custom made arrows are usually made and dispatched within 3-5 weeks. (Monday - Friday)

Custom made longbows are usually made and dispatched within 4-6 weeks. (Monday - Friday)

Special order items depend on the stock levels of the main distributors and the country/customs timescales required to import them. We work hard and as fast as possible to get your special order item out to you but sometimes there are delays out of our control.

Please note that if you have ordered multiple items with varying shipment estimates the order will be despatched in a single shipment when all items are available.


If we are unable to fulfil your entire order, we will contact you and offer to back order the unavailable items or refund.

We try our best to ship all orders within 2-5 working days. During very busy periods such as Christmas this may take a little longer. If you are in a rush for your delivery please let us know by phone or email. Custom orders will be sent once we have the product and have completed our own checks and setups.

We use the following carriers to deliver our orders: Royal Mail, UPS, Hermes, Fedex, DHL

Our shipping is based in Volumetric weight and is banded so you may find that adding additional items incurs no extra cost up to the next shipping band. For insurance purposes you may find that Royal Mail is not an option when adding shipping to your order. This covers yourself as well as ourselves for anything that does go missing.

If you choose a none trackable service and it goes missing in transit then Royal Mail do not acknowledge this until 10 working days (UK) and 20 days (Europe) after expected delivery date and 25 days internationally. We strongly suggest you choose a signed tracked service. If a tracking number is applicable we will update your order with the tracking information.

Please note that orders using Royal Mail services will not have tracking numbers. If an item is lost in transit please contact your local sorting office first.
