The Cartel String Jig CX-1 is a solid aluminium string-making jig built for archers who'd rather build a string than buy one – whether that's a fresh recurve string for the shooting line, a matched set for the club, or a replacement for your longbow.
A shop-bought string is a compromise: someone else's strand count, someone else's serving, someone else's brace height. Build your own on the CX-1 and you control every part of it - material, strand count, serving length and colour, and the exact length for your bow. After the first two or three strings, the jig has usually paid for itself.
The CX-1 is machined from solid aluminium rather than pressed steel or plastic, so it stays true under tension — and string tension is exactly where a cheap jig lets you down. The frame holds its geometry string after string, which is what gives you repeatable lengths instead of a fresh guess every time.

To build a finished string you'll want bowstring material, serving thread and a serving tool. Add string wax to finish and maintain it.
