Did you know that The Longbow Shop has supplied some fantastic TV and film production companies over the last few years? Our work can be seen in the following (sorry we can’t give you a full list as some of it is hush hush!)
BBC – The White queen
We supplied some of our medieval style arrows for this popular TV series and they were used throughout. We really like the behind the scenes photo of some of the arrows being used
Henry V - Royal Shakespeare Company
We supplied english longbows for the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Henry V which was performed in the 600th anniversary year of the Battle of Agincourt. The play opened in Liverpool and then went on to tour.
BBC - Doctor Who - Robots of sherwood
We were approached to supply the arrows for a very special episode of Doctor Who and they were used extensively throughout the episode for long and close shots.
Mike Loades - Time Commanders
We’ve worked with Mike Loades on a few projects the latest being some horsebow arrows for the last in the return series of Time Commanders.
The Royals
We supplied a stunning Toth horsebow for an episode of US drama series The Royals which ended up as a present for the lovely miss Elizabeth Hurley.
Borthwick Art Installation
The Longbow Shop supplied 360 medieval self nocked arrows for an art installation at Borthwick Castle, Scotland in 2016. Bradley Borthwick travelled from the USA to make a documentary short film about his family lineage and an historical account taken from the Battle of Flodden 1513. All the arrows were shot from an English Longbow by Bradley and left as an art installation on site.
Weta Workshop - New Zealand
We supplied Weta Workshop, the SFX company behind The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings to name just a few, with several thousand bow strings for a feature film (a large Chinese production with 5 armies and a big wall in it). We can't reveal any more on that one yet but more details to follow when we can tell you!
This is just a small selection of the parts that The Longbow Shop has played over the last few years in archery TV and Film and we are always glad to be involved! If you are looking for traditional archery equipment for television or film or researching for a production company please do get in touch and let's see if we can help you - info@thelongbowshop.com
